August 11, 2011 – Upstairs

Baby climbed up the stairs for the first time. I guess it’s time to baby proof. ;)

July 21, 2011 – First Tooth

First tooth! First tooth! First tooth!

May 26, 2011 – Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday to our Little Monster! The last year has gone by so fast!

April 12, 2011 – Crawling…

My little girl has learned to crawl! So proud of her!

My mom enticed her to crawl by dangling some blocks in front of her. We had recently got her a set of soft blocks from IKEA, and she loves nothing more than to knock them over once you’ve piled them up high. So my mom put them just out of her reach, and she started crawling!

Life is not going to be the same now, is it? ;)

March 15, 2011 – A Round of Applause

Baby just learned to clap her hands and she’s doing it everywhere – in the car, while eating, even as her diaper is changed. #sodarncute

Day 204 – The Pause Button

I know I’ve said this before, but sometimes I wish there were a pause button so that you could stop and enjoy your baby just a little bit longer…

Day 179 – First Food

Today the Little Monster had her first taste of food – a tablespoon’s worth of rice cereal. She eagerly took it in her mouth (she puts everything in her mouth these days), had a taste, and made a face. She took another taste, and seemed… indifferent to the whole experience. After a few tiny spoonfuls, she’d had enough. Not the amazing, revelatory experience that I expected her to have. But an amazing milestone all the same.

Day 135 – The Backwards Scoot

While the Little Monster is far from crawling, she does what I am now calling the Backwards Scoot. I can put her on her back somewhere (like her activity mat), and she will scoot on her back and roll around until she’s a few feet away.

While I admire her independence, it’s a bit unnerving sometimes to place her in one spot, do something (like typing on my laptop), and then find her in an entirely different place that I left her. She can go far distances, do 180s (even 360s), flip onto her stomach, and sometimes travel dangerously close to the tiles of the fireplace or the pointy coffee table.

I guess baby proofing is going to come sooner than I think.

Day 109 – Flip Flop

Today the Little Monster flipped onto her stomach! It was interesting to watch her try over and over again by throwing her body to the side until finally… SUCCESS. She looked a little confused afterwards about what to do once she got there. :)

For me, I began to feel a little sad. I mean, today she turns over, tomorrow she’ll be off to college. ;)
