Not sure what it is about having a baby, but it seems to make you more… musical. You start to sing along to TV shows or your baby’s Jumperoo music. You sing about changing a diaper, you sing about eating breakfast. Everything and anything becomes the subject of your singing commentary.

On the weekend I watched “Annie,” and today I couldn’t stop singing the tunes from it. “It’s a Hard-Knock Life,” “Maybe” and of course, “Tomorrow.” Good thing I had a captive audience: my five-month-old daughter.

Today I found myself singing the alphabet song over and over again. Amazing how your musical tastes change after you have a baby…
